Caroline and Marie are our hygienists, they are there to help you achieve a clean healthy mouth and to avoid you suffering from gum disease.

Gum disease is caused when the gum tissues and bone that hold the teeth in place become infected. The symptoms of gum disease include bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, a bad taste and loosening of your teeth. If left untreated it will result in tooth loss.

We now know that gum disease is linked with serious health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease and also leads to low birth weight if present while the mother is pregnant.

For all of the above reasons it is very important that the plaque in your mouth is controlled.

How do our hygienists help you?

Caroline and Marie will carefully remove any hard plaque that has been allowed to build up in your mouth and they will share their skills, tips and techniques for helping to control and minimise the build up of any plaque between your hygiene visits. This will help you to keep your teeth for life, which with care and time on your part is perfectly achievable.

They will also help you to control and eliminate bad breath.

They can also teach your children the correct techniques and dietary habits to start them on the road to excellent oral health.
